Abstract

An arrangement for a reaction chamber 10 comprising tubular walls 10a carrying a cooling agent inside a combustion installation having a circulating fluidised bed. The bed is maintained by supplying fuel, an inert granular material and a pressurised, oxygen-containing gas. The walls 10a of the reaction chamber are sloping and converge towards the top, from the upper part of the level of orifices 12 taking secondary fluidisation gas to the chamber. The surface area of the reaction chamber 10 is reduced continuously towards an outlet 22 located near the apex of the said chamber <IMAGE>
