Abstract

The automatic residual gas valve is for a pressure vessel such as a gas bottle (1) prevents dirt penetrating inside the vessel after emptying, and forms a hermetic seal against gas particle diffusion. A set residual pressure is maintained at all times. The ordinary stop valve (4) can be used on the bottle, since with slight modification it can be fitted in the tapped boss (5). The valve automatically assumes the shut position. A vacuum applied to the mouth (6) of the main stop valve causes it to assume a position suspending the blocking action, so that refinning can take place unhindered.
