Abstract

A pump unit of an apparatus for applying coatings comprises a drive (7) at the opposite ends of which there are disposed casings (11, 11') accommodating bellows (12). The interior of each bellows (12) is connected to a pressure line (19) and suction line (18), whereas each cavity (17) formed between the outer surface of the bellows (12) and inner surface of the casing (11) or (11') is filled with a liquid pressure compensator. The leaks this compensator are collected in chambers (20) at the ends of the drive (7), each such chamber communicating through a non-return valve (22) with the cavity (17) formed between the outer surface of the bellows (12) and inner surface of the casing disposed at the opposite end of the drive (7). This ensures good lubrication. <IMAGE>
