Abstract

The heat coil (12) comprises a copper tube bent to U-shape which via rubber hoses (13,14) is connected to input (15) and outlet (16) lines between the vehicle engine block and a heater used to heat the vehicle passenger accommodation. An electrically driven pump (18), connected in the rubber hose (14) joined to the outlet line (16), impels the flow of warm cooling water through the heat coil and rubber hoses and is controlled electrically via a switch located on the vehicle dashboard. - The heat coil may also be moulded into the wiper blade (11), with its ends emerging from the one short side of the blade. The power requirement for the pump is low, viz approx. 10 watts, the U-shaped bent copper tube has an external dia. of approx. 6 mm, and the rubber hoses have an internal dia. of approx. 6 mm.
