Abstract

The inclined peripheral surfaces has a grinding medium lining and acts as the grinding wheel active surfaces. The angle between the surfaces is adjusted, to that between two adjacent chisel cutter flanks of the drilling crown to be ground. The grinding medium lining comprises diamonds, borax nitride etc. whilst the body of the wheel contains a rotation-symmetrical hollow space (7) with a ring-shaped aperture (8) in one side of the body. In front of the aperture, is a part acting as a pocket (9) with a larger dia. than the aperture, and accommodating coolant fed through the aperture. From the base (10) of the pocket part to the grinding wheel periphery, extend holes or channels (11) for coolant feed.
