Abstract

The invention relates to a method for drying materials as well as to a device for implementing the method with a gaseous drying medium, preferably air. The aim of the invention is the improvement of the energy economy of the drying process with simultaneous reduction of the expenditure on apparatus. The object consists in the production of a method and a device for its implementation, in which the dehumidifying capacity is increased with low expenditure on apparatus and the drying temperature is independent of the limited temperature of the refrigerating process in the case of simultaneous use of the excess heat of the drying process. According to the invention, the object is achieved by heat energy being carried off from the drying medium before the dehumidifying evaporator of the dehumidifying heat pump by a dryer-external cooling medium and by the supply of a quantity of cooling air and the carrying off of a quantity of outgoing air, and by a quantity of heat energy lying above the excess heat being supplied if necessary to the dehumidified drying medium by a downstream heater. The invention can be used for drying forestry-related, agricultural, ceramic materials and the like. <IMAGE>
