Abstract

In a boiling water reactor, the fuel elements (1) which form the reactor core are detachably surrounded by boxes (12) which, taken in fours, form a core cell (2). The fuel elements (1) are seated on a lower core plate (5), and are guided in an upper core grid (10). Lying thereon is a collar (14) to which the four boxes (12) of the fuel elements (1) of a core cell (2) are connected with their upper end. The lower ends of the four boxes (12) are connected by means of a centering cross (15) which is guided in the lower core plate (5) with a vertical play.
