Abstract

The rubber blanket comprises a textile base and a rubber cover layer transferring the ink to the paper. The blanket is clamped to the cylinder of an offset printing press by a mechanism in a groove in the cylinder. Cuts (7) are formed in the cover layer (6) of the blanket (4) where it passes round the radiused portions and the entrance to the slot (2), and run parallel to the axis of the cylinder (1). They can extend for the whole width of the cover layer.
