Abstract

A diagnostic agent containing a paramagnetic metal is disclosed, which diagnostic agent comprises a physiologically tolerable, water-insoluble, hydroxyl group-containing macromolecular product in particle form, with the macromolecular product consisting of at least one polymeric or polymerized carbohydrate or polymerized sugar alcohol or a derivative thereof, to which at least one non-radioactive paramagnetic metal is chemically bonded.
