Abstract

A splice is made in a conventional splice case (A) in which an organizer apparatus (B) is mounted. The splice case includes end members (10, 12) torque bars (14, 16) and covers (18, 20). The organizer apparatus may include a main frame assembly (30) mounted to the torque bars by mounting clips (54) and a splice enclosure (70) which is mounted on ledges (36, 38) of the main frame assembly for defining a cable passage between the main frame and splice enclosure. A plurality of flexible, e.g. felt, leaves (90) are mounted in book-like fashion on e.g. mounting posts (82, 84, 86) in the splice enclosure. Hook and loop fabric strips (98, 100 and 102, 104) may selectively secure fibers and splices to the surfaces of the leaves. Leaf holddown members (112, 114) may selectively hold the leaves substantially parallel to a bottom wall of the splice enclosure. <IMAGE>
