Abstract

Plates (1a-1c) are disposed in a stack and are associated with longitudinally extending, pleated distancing members (2). These members (or spacers) extend in the flow direction. The plates are alternately turned 90 deg. and are provided, between the distancing members, with corrugations (4). - The corrugations act to form a pressure drop, and are pref. disposed at right angles to the distancing members. The sides of the distancing members, which can be pressed against each other may be provided with a fine structure similar to the corrugations.
