Abstract

A fuse element with a fuse plug 5 of the D-fuse type has a base 1 with an insertion channel 10 open towards the bottom of the base for installation on a power rail 7. The fuse plug is pressed directly against the power rail by a fuse cap 6 with a screw fitting or bayonet fitting. A spring strap 30 is fixed in the insertion channel. This strap is so arranged that the base can be clipped directly onto the rail 7. The spring strap is provided with fixing devices 37 for the sliding part 2 of the fuse element. <IMAGE>
