Abstract

A turning device for pivoting a vehicle seat around an approximately vertical axis between a work position and an entry/exit position, where the front edge of the seat is turned toward the door opening of the vehicle. The invention comprises a bottom section (1) that is fixed to the vehicle, an attachment section (2) that bears the seat itself and a pivot device (3) in between.To ensure satisfactory stability at low weight and compact design, the turning device is characterized by linking of the bottom section (1) and the attachment section (2) by means of catches (20, 21) when the seat is in the work position. The pivot device (3) is situated near the rear of the bottom section at the corner turned towards the vehicle door. A number of pressure-absorbing roller elements (14, 28) are situated at a distance from the pivot section. The catches are also situated at a distance from the pivot section, preferably at the other corners of the bottom section, and are designed like hooks (23) that insert in recesses (24).<IMAGE>
