Abstract
Aerodynamic brake for a rotating body, especially a projectile, characterised by a ring (5), which is slotted at two diametrically opposite points to form two walls (7, 8) in the form of arcs and is mounted on the rotating body (1), and two sheet-metal strips (9, 10) which are placed in such a manner about the inner and outer surfaces of these walls (7, 8), are mounted in such a manner on the inner surface in each case, and are extended in such a manner at one end of the walls (7, 8) in each case by elements (11, 12) which are essentially of the same length as the strip sections resting on the outer surfaces of the walls (7, 8), that these two strip sections, together with the extension pieces (11, 12), open under the influence of the centrifugal force and of the aerodynamic drag to form braking wings for the rotating body (1). <IMAGE>
