Abstract

A coupling for shaft ends, in which slot-and-key connections are used to transmit torque, is designed to make assembly easier. For this purpose, the fitting hole which receives one shaft end has an eccentric and/or conical widening. The shaft end to be mounted can thus be introduced with large clearance into the coupling and is then centred precisely within the fitting hole in the course of the assembly operation. Seizure, jamming or bending of the parts to be assembled is thus prevented and more rapid assembly is made possible.
