Abstract

The method for manufacturing metal fibres from spherical particles (6) of a metal powder provides for feeding the spherical particles (6) of the metal powder to a main roll (2) and a supplementary roll (3) of a deforming tool (1) so that each of the spherical particles (6) is transferred in the direction of technological processing, deformed by rolling and is simultaneously extended along a rotation axis thereof. The extension of the particles is effected through a means, being the supplementary roll (3), at a rate which is higher than the rate of a free flow of the metal into an extension zone, which flow might occur whilst the diameter of the deformed spherical particle is reduced by said supplementary roll. Then the metal fibres are unloaded.
