Abstract

The drum for a cable has a contact fitment at each end, and comprises a primary core (1) with a gable (2) at one end, and two other gables (3,4) at its other end. The latter two gables are separated by a secondary core (5) on which the cable inner end is accomodated. The remainder of the cable is wound on to the primary core. The exterior of one of the latter two gables (4) has a space (6) which can receive the contact fitment. Between the space and its gable (4) is a peripheral recess (8) for the cable. Likewise, the other of the latter two gables (3) has at least one second cable recess (9,10) between the third cable peripheral recess (8) and the primary core (1). The axially formed third gable recess (6) limiting surfaces are provided with sprung material (7) which retains the contact fitment in a sprung and peripherally variable manner.
