Abstract

A road train brake system is proposed in which an electrical line (12), which is necessary in any case, running between tractor vehicle (5) and trailer (11) is also used as a carrier of a modulated control variable. The control variable is a function of the force with which the tractor's brake is actuated and determines the force with which the trailer brake is actuated. In this way the pneumatic air signal relayed by the trailer control line, which is usual in the case of 2-line pneumatic air brake systems, is replaced by an electrical signal which has the advantage of being relayed more rapidly. <IMAGE>
