Abstract
A method of sealing and stabilizing structures, in particular tunnels, adits, caissons and/or parts of structures, such as for example steel tubing, from water under pressure, wherein an extremely quick reacting and suitably modified synthetic plastics or rubber material is sprayed by the two-component method directly onto the dry or damp underground face or the excavated rock as an adhesive insulating layer and adhesive layer for the gun concrete or the tunnel reinforcement (e.g. gun concrete casing) to be applied subsequently. The plastics- or rubber-based material used for this purpose has an extremely short reaction time (pot time) of 3 sec. to 40 min., preferably 14 sec. to 40 min., and a Shore hardness A of 40 to 90, preferably 65 to 80, and contains modification agents, for example for improving adhesion or bridging cracks.
