Abstract
The heat accumulator comprises a body of a material of high heat capacity and high m.pt. (cast iron or ceramic compsn. 37&.Al2O3, 5% SiO2, 17% FeO3, 1.7% TiO2, 38% CaO, 0.5& MgO, 0.8% alkali) electrically heated to a higher temp. than the heating system. It is in heat exchange relationship with the water system of a heating system un a conduit carrying a heat transporting liquid (water or oil). Control is pref. effected via a circulation pump and thermostat and/or a thyristor. The accumulator is pref. heated using the cheaper source of right electricity. Used for right storage domestic heating. The accumulator is reasonably sized and easily inserted into existing installations.
