The pictorial and written description of the apparatus in this invention for enabling people in wheelchairs to move more easily into or out of a bed, consists of a mainly horizontal sectional component (1) mounted on the bed head frame, so that when it is parallel to the bed length, it reaches from the bed head support to a position at such a distance from the bed head that, from this position, a person sitting on the bed can lie down on the bed without further movement. This component (1) is fitted with a downward pointing, vertical end part in a bedside mounted sleeve (6) and has at its other end an upward pointing vertical end part (4), on whose upper end is mounted a handle (5), which the person in the wheelchair can hold while moving from the wheelchair to the bed, or vice versa.
