Abstract
Surface is ventilated by applying a layer of adhesive and then electrostatically applying to this a layer of short synthetic fibres which project at right angles from the surface. In partic., the surface is the exterior of a sleeve for locating over the handle or shaft of a tool, handlebar, racket or club. The sleeve is pref. a flexible heat-shrinkable tube with internal grooves along at least part of its length, the adhesive is based on alkyd resin and the fibres are of nylon 0.5 mm long and applied by a known method. The sleeve greatly reduces perspiration, improves the grip and prevents circulatory disturbances caused by vibrating tools.
