Abstract
An aluminum base alloy product suitable for forming into wrought products including fin or tube stock for heat exchanger assemblies is disclosed. The alloy product contains 2 to 13 wt% Si, 4 max. wt% Zn, 0.005 to 2 wt% Sr, up to 1 wt% Fe and up to 1 wt% Cu, the balance essentially aluminum and impurities, and when formed into a wrought product has a substantially uniform distribution of relatively fine, generally equiaxed constituents comprised mainly of elemental silicon.
