Abstract

Finely divided organic material contg. microorganisms is used as a pile or layer on a base. Oxygen-contg. material such as air is passed through from the base and some microbiological decomposition occurs in the presence of nitrogen carriers. The heat generated is used to evaporate the undesired water. Used for removing water from selected areas e.g. land cuttings and terraces. (Provisional Basic previously advised in Week K19)
