Abstract

A control element (10) alternately controls valves (4 to 7) so that they adopt a first and a second position. In the first position, flow liquid and in the second position return liquid flows through a mixing vessel (8). A temperature sensor (18) measures the mixing temperature ( theta m) in the mixing vessel (8), a measuring circuit (20) ascertains the time constant of the change in the mixing temperature ( theta m) and a calculating element (27) calculates the reciprocal value of the time constant. The reciprocal value corresponds to the throughflow. The throughflow meter is intended to be used advantageously in a heat output meter or a calorimeter. A reversing valve or a mixing valve, which is necessary anyway to control or regulate heat output in heating systems, may be used as valves (4 to 7). <IMAGE>
