Abstract

Decentral measuring devices (1 to 3) generate fixed-weightage energy pulses or fixed-weightage flow pulses which are transmitted in the form of a code word of a first type (A) to a control centre (5) via a bus line (4). A timing element (15) periodically trips the transmission of a code word of a second type (B). An alarm element (16) in the central device (5) responds if no code word arrives from an address within a prescribed time interval. In this way, an alarm is raised if the voltage supply fails or other malfunctions occur in one of the measuring devices (1 to 3). The alarm element (16) also responds if irregular states or variations are detected by a feed temperature sensor (7), a return temperature sensor (8) or other state sensors (19). <IMAGE>
