Abstract

The appts. comprises a relatively broad strip (2) of plastic and/or textile material. In its central parts, the strip has a fold (2a) where a first side part locates against a similar second part. The fold is such that the two parts of the strip emerge from thit at a specific angle to one another. The fold is maintained by the two parts being sewn or stuck to one another. The free ends of the strip parts have fastening components (2f,2g) for tractive units (3,4). When the strip is wound on to the cable, the first part locates via its first side against the cable exterior, and correspondingly so does the second part. The two parts extend from the fold in a spiral path along the cable exterior, and at the same time cross each other for mutual locking. (Provisonal Basic advised week D50)
