Abstract

Pressure gas switch (for example SF6 switch) for high voltage comprising an elongated hollow pin insulator 4 that supports at least one switch element 1. The pin insulator contains an operating rod 5 that can be moved in an axial direction, which at its upper end is connected in such a way that it can be removed to a cylindrical connector 12 arranged in line with the operating rod, which connector is connected to the moveable contact of the switch element. The operating rod and the connector are in the vicinity of the connection position between them provided with cylindrical thickened sections 21, 22 which, in a position between the on and off positions of the switch, each interact with a sealing device 19, 20 to prevent gas passing between the pin insulator 4 and the switch element 1. In this position, the operating rod and the connector can be clamped. The connection space between the sealing rings is accessible from the side through an opening 23 provided with a sealing cover 24. The design enables the switch element and the pin insulator to be filled with gas during manufacture and sent individually to the erection site where they can be assembled easily and quickly. <IMAGE>
