Adjustable furniture having a seat component 39 and/or leg-supporting component 44 with an elongate mounting structure 35 which extends upwards and backwards with respect to the horizontal plane of the ground and a sleeve device 43, 48 mounted for adjustable displacement along the mounting structure and locatable thereon at arbitrary levels above the ground for supporting the component on the mounting structure with the assistance of the weight of and the weight loading exerted on the component.
