Abstract

A ligature device (2) to produce bloodlessness in part of the human body with the aid of a band (4) to be applied about that body part comprises a casing (6) housing a key (7) urged into engagement with the band 4 under the action of a spring (9) so that the band (4) may be pulled through the housing to tighten it. The band may be further tightened by means of a device (5) in the form of a threaded spindle (15) with a nut (17) having a hand grip.
