Abstract

In an X-ray generator, the high voltage generator (6, 7) is accommodated in a first housing (8) and one or more X-ray tubes (3) are accommodated in a second housing (1) together with a heater supply transformer (9) connected to an external low voltage source via a lead (10). To reduce the weight of the generator the heater transformer can use a supply frequency higher than mains frequency. Advantageous for flash-encoded multi-source tomosynthesis. <IMAGE>
