Abstract

A folding-flap cylinder has a wheel body (12) coupled to the drive (13) and two cylinder bodies (1 to 3 and 9) which can be rotated and fixed with respect to said wheel body (12) and one of which is provided with folding flaps (4) and the other with corresponding counterflaps (10) which are adjustable with respect to one another in order to adapt the width of the opening delimited by these flaps to different product thicknesses. The cylinder bodies (1 to 3 and 9), one of which (9) is rotatably mounted on a central shaft (1) and is enclosed by two discs (2 and 3) which are rigidly fixed on this shaft (1) and, together with the shaft (1), form the other cylinder body (1 to 3), are designed so as to be inherently rigid. The wheel body (12) is provided with a flange (15) which bears against one of the discs (2 and 3) and has a radial slit in which a sliding member (20) is arranged which is adjustable by means of a setting screw and on which two levers of equal length are articulately mounted which are articulately mounted at the other end to in each case a cylinder body (1 to 3 and 9). This folding-flap cylinder is simple in construction, easy to operate and ensures high accuracy. <IMAGE>
