Abstract
Before mixing the water-containing radioactive waste with cement, the waste is treated with a material which produces with the boric acid or the borate a compound which is difficult to dissolve in water or is a coordination compound. This method results in the solidification of the cement to form a solid product. The method is suitable for binding the water-containing, radioactive waste from pressurised-water reactors.
