Abstract
If there is no transgression of limit value within a measuring period predetermined by a time base counter, the pulse counter (1) is reset to its starting position by the time base counter (5) at the end of the measuring period. If, however, the limit value is exceeded within the measuring period, the pulse counter (1) outputs a transgression pulse which increments a transgression counting mechanism (18) by one unit. At the same time, a new measuring period begins. The invention solves the problem of initiating a new measuring period if the limit value of the pulse counter (1) is already exceeded before the measuring period has elapsed. This is done by the fact that the pulse counter (1) and the time base counter (5) are reset to their starting position by the transgression pulse via a monostable flip flop (10). The resetting of the pulse counter (1) by the time base counter (5) at the end of a measuring period without transgression of limit value is also effected via a monostable flip flop (7). <IMAGE>
