Abstract

Heavy drum (7), esp. for bark stripping machine, supported for rotation on rollers, is driven by a pinion (11) integral with the drum-supporting surface (15) of one of the rollers. The latter surface is formed by a sleeve (12) connected to a drive hub (13) by rubber bushes (14) providing radial resilience while transmitting torque. - The drum-supporting surface of the sleeve and the pitch circle of the pinion pref. have the same diameter. The inside of the sleeve may have scalloped recesses engaged by the rubber while the hub is bonded to the rubber in known manner.
