Abstract

The soft magnetic properties and tensile strength of powder metallurgically produced components are improved by forming the components from an alloy powder comprising highly pure iron and up to 1.5% phosphorus. The particle size of the powder is controlled such that less than 5% exceeds 35 Tyler mesh and less than 20% is less than 100 Tyler mesh.
