Abstract
1457825 Printing machines MURRAY CURVEX PRINTING Ltd 10 Jan 1975 [14 Jan 1974] 01713/74 Heading B6C A printing machine comprises a transfer member 16 (Fig. 6) in the form of an elastic flexible membrane held in a taut condition in a frame structure movable from a screening station at which an image is screened on to the membrane, to a printing station at which the image is transferred to an article. At the screening station, the membrane is held down on to a support 47 by vacuum, the support being movable, in synchronism with the movement of the transfer member, between a membrane supporting position and an inoperative position clear of the membrane and frame. The support surface may have an array of grooves 52, 53 (Fig. 11), and a vacuum connection 55. Alternatively, the support may have a porous surface with the pores thereof connected to vacuum, or be covered by a woven wire mesh the meshes of which communicates with vacuum. The support may also be supplied with channels, e.g. 50 for passage of cooling liquid to solidify a thermoplastic colour applied when molten.
