Abstract

1480351 Heat-treating aluminium alloys ALUMINUM CO OF AMERICA 27 Aug 1974 [26 Oct 1973] 37448/74 Heading C7A An alloy containing in percentage by weight: is solution treated, precipitation hardened at 175- 325‹F, heated within the ranges of time and temperature defined by the area ABCD in Fig. 4, and finally precipitation hardened again at 175- 325‹F. Preferably the intermediate heating is carried out by immersion in molten metal; and the final hardening treatment is at 270-320‹F for 2 to 30 hours.
