Abstract

ABSTRACT An aqueous battery comprising a Stainless steel current collector and an aqueous electrolyte comprising 0.1-1.5 M chloride anions, 0.1-1.5 M methane sulfonate anions and 0.1-1.5 M acetate anions. (Fig. 1)

Claims (5)

1. An aqueous battery comprising: - a Stainless steel current collectorilf), and - an aqueous electrolyte Åäjflcomprising 0.1-1.5 M chloride anions, 0.1-1.5 M methane sulfonate anions and 0.1-1.5 M acetate anions.
2. The aqueous battery of claim 1, wherein a ratio of methane sulfonate ggions to chloride ggions is 0.75:1 to 1011, a ratio of acetate anions to chloride agions is 0.75:1 to 1011, and a ratio of acetate anions to methane sulfonate Qions is 1:2 to 2:
3. The aqueous battery of claim 1 or 2, wherein the aqueous battery is a secondary electrolytic zinc-manganese dioxide battery.
4. The aqueous battery of any of claims 1-3, wherein the stainless steel of the current collectorQLcomprises at least 1.5% molybdenum.
5. The aqueous battery of claim 4, wherein the stainless steel of the current collector__§2>_)_ comprises at most 1% nickel.
