Abstract

A foldable back panel for wardrobes, bookcases, kitchen cupboards and similar articles of furniture comprises two plates (1, 2) of rigid materials, rectangular in shape and pref. of similar size, placed side by side in edge-to-edge contact. a coating of PVAc glue is applied to both plates and a sheet of flexible plastic material (3) is applied thereto, being glued to said plates and encasing opposite edges (4, 5). Said plates may be made of hardboard, chipboard or similar material, and are foldable for flat packing in small cartons. When assembled, the plastic-coated face is placed away from the wall, obviating the need for painting.
