Abstract

Superabsorbent material layers are thermofixed between tissue paper or nonwoven sheets. An absorbent material used during the transport by air of seafood, chemicals, flowers or other products, or in refuse containers, comprises a large amount of superabsorbent material thermofixed between tissue paper or nonwoven sheets, forming a very thin material with a high absorption capacity in relation to the material thickness and weight. Conventional cold or hot nip pressing techniques are used to laminate the layers together. TEXTILES AND PAPER - The superabsorbent layers contain 4-50 (10-20) wt.% binder chosen from polyethylene, polypropylene, EVA or other modified plastics, thermoplastic starches, various synthetic fibres or hot-melt adhesives. Layers of superabsorbent layers are placed between two layers of 100% cellulose to control the spread of liquid between these superabsorbent layers.

Description

The invention is described in more detail below in the accompanying sketch, which in Fig. 1 shows a schematic perspective view of an absorbent, i.e. four layers of absorbent material with covers of non-woven fabric or plastic. The cover is for holding the absorbent together when the large amount of liquid has been absorbed.

One of the techniques is based on mixing 40-300 grams / m2 superabsorbents with a binder. The mixture is distributed evenly with e.g. a roller on the running web and is thermofixed together with the superabsorbent between two tissue sheets, paper sheets or non-woven fabric sheets at a speed of up to 400 m / min, preferably 10-200 N / min. The binder consists of a powder with tinoplastic properties e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene, EVA, modified plastics or thermoplastic starch.

The admixture of this binder normally takes place in a proportion of 4-50% of the superabsorbent weight, preferably 10-20%. The thermofixing takes place in a roll nip with a line pressure of 10-100N / mm, preferably 25-45N / mm with a material temperature of 40-220 degrees Celsius depending on the type of binder.

The second technique is based on the tissue, paper or nonwoven fabric containing synthetic fibers with a mixture of 5-50%, preferably 10-20% as a binder for the superabsorbent, which means that the superabsorbent alone or with a mixture of thermoplastic powder as mentioned above and distributed on the running track and thermofixed as mentioned above.

The third technique is based on the tissue, paper or non-woven fabric being covered with a hot melt film on one or both sheets and with a proportion of 4-50%, preferably 10-20% of the superabsorbent weight, on the substrate of the hot melt film the superabsorbent is distributed with a basis weight of 40-300 grams / m2 and the sheets are brought together with the superabsorbent and the binder between the sheets. The material is cold embossed together in a roll nip or hot embossed with a material temperature of 40-220 C in a heat nip with the above-mentioned line pressure. These three techniques produce a material known here as absorbent material (1)
