Abstract

A method for processing at least one plastic material (1) suitable for recycling comprises packaging it into a soft air-permeable container (2) made from the same plastic material, then mixing the container and its contents with waste paper and cardboard material (4) and then compacting the mixture into a suitable shape (5). Conventional equipment and conveyors for transporting recycled paper are used to deliver the compacted mixture to a collection site where it is sorted for recycling of the paper and plastic. Preferably the plastic material is polyethylene.
