Abstract

A pump unit, which is intended for pumping corrosive fluids, comprises, in part, a submersible pump (1) having a pump housing (5), an impeller (9) situated therein, and a pump-housing cover (8) belonging to the pump housing, the impeller, the pump housing and the pump-housing cover consisting of corrosion-resistant material, and, in part, a motor (2) provided for driving the pump and having a motor casing (14a, 14b), a shaft (11) coupled to the impeller, and cable bushings (20, 21). In order to permit the use of materials which are less expensive and easier to work for as many parts of the pump unit as possible, the unit comprises a casing (24, 24a) which consists of corrosion-resistant material, encloses the said parts belonging to the motor, which are produced from material which is not corrosion-resistant, and whose lower end is connected to the pump-housing cover (8) and whose other, upper end is situated above the highest height of the surface of the corrosive fluid to be pumped (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>

Description

2 fgóåàdfëgiåomma in contact with the corrosive pumped medium, are made of corrosion-resistant material.

1.The motor 2, which here is assumed to be an electric motor, comprises in addition to the pump shaft 11 a motor housing 14a, one to this 15 resp. 16, a bearing cover 17 belonging to the cover, bearings 18 and 19 belonging to the insertion cap 14b, rotor and stator as well as bushings 2O'0d121 for the motor electrical cables 23 or energy for the wires_Aggxgatmïär also provided with a lifting hook, 22. In contrast to what is conventionally the case with pumps for corrosive media, the parts 14a, 14b, 17, 20, 21, 22 and 23 in accordance with the invention here are made of a non-corrosion-resistant material. In view of this, the whole motor 2, including the above-mentioned parts, according to the invention is tightly enclosed in a jacket 24 of corrosion-resistant material, which is liquid-tightly connected to the pump housing cover 8. The jacket 24 extends so high that its upper end securely is above the highest level 25a (Fig. 2) that the corrosive hydrogen Wm can reach. A normal value at the liquid level is indicated by the line 25 in Fig. 1.

1. Åtminstone kamrarna 26a och-26b ocheventuellt även -' kammaren 26c kommunicera med varandra, såsom framgår av fig. l.Chambers for oil or other heat transfer, insulating lubricating and / or cooling liquid are designated by 26a, 26b and 26c in Fig. 1. At least the chambers 26a and -26b and possibly also the chamber 26c communicate with each other, as shown in Fig. 1.

In the latter case, if appropriate, the heat transfer medium may be forcibly circulated through the chambers, the middle part 26a of which is enclosed between the motor housing 14a and the corrosion-resistant protective jacket 24.

Seals are fitted between different parts of the pump set, where required.

I fig. 25b. Manteln 24 i fig. Foten 4 i fig. 1 saknas i fig. 2.In Fig. 2, in which the same reference numerals as in Fig. 1 are used to denote the same or analogous details, a pump assembly made in accordance with the invention is shown to be arranged in a tank 28 or the like. The highest and lowest levels of the liquid surface in the tank 28 in Fig. 2 are denoted by 25a and 25a, respectively. 25b. The jacket 24 in Fig. 2 is connected by means of a flange connection to an extension jacket 24a, which also consists of corrosion-solid material and whose upper end is above the highest possible liquid level 25a. According to Fig. 2, the extension jacket 24a is in turn connected to a splice jacket 29, the upper end of which, like the upper end of the pressure line 6, is fixed in a cover 30, -iv, w-¿, _ 3 _ 11/0 4011 which covers a opening in the tank 28. The entire pump unit 1 / * J 1, 2 including jackets 24, 24a and 29 and pressure line 6 thus hang in the lid 30 and are supported by and liftable together with it. The foot 4 in Fig. 1 is missing in Fig. 2.

The embodiment described above and shown in the drawings is of course to be considered only as a non-limiting example and can be modified in its details in several ways within the scope of the following claims. Thus, for example, the splice jacket 29 and / or the cover 30 can be omitted in some cases.

When the splice jacket 29 is missing, the extension jacket 24a can extend all the way up to and be attached to the cover 30a.
