Description

461 569' Många moderna plastförpackningar tål ej värmebehandlingen under autoklaveringen. Av dessa orsaker är det önskvärt att genomföra sterilisering med joniserad bestrålning. Tyvärr förhåller det sig så, att vattenbaserade geler på basis av gummi arabicum, dragant, carbomer, karboxymetylcellulosa och andra gelbildare förlorar sina gelstrukturer av joniserad bestrålning och bildar en lågviskös vattenlösning.
Det har nu visat sig, att carbomer (karboxypolymetylen) kan stabiliseras med flervärda alkoholer, t.ex. etylenglykol, glycerin, propylenglykol, så att gelen ej brytes ned under steriliseringen med exempelvis gammabestrålning från Co 60. Se tabell l.

1. Steril, vattenbaserad gel, företrädesvis för medicinska ändamål, k ä n n e t e c k n a d d ä r a v, att den innehåller karboxylpolymetylenpolymer (carbomer) och som stabiliseringsmedel innehåller flervärda alkoholer samt att den gjorts steril medelst joniserad strålning.
2. Gel enligt kravet 1, k ä n n e t e c k n a d d ä r- a v, att den innehåller 1 - 90 % stabiliserande, flervärda alkoholer.
