Abstract

Several holes are drilled to the chosen depth and a pressurised jet is lowered into the hole. The jet which is usually water opens up fissures in the rock, forming a channel through to an adjacent hole. The feed tube is movable in the directions indicated by the arrows. The tube is supported by a stand on which there is a tippable platform and the angle set to adjust the jet angle.
