Abstract

A fixing device for chains (11) on a brush-clearing aggregate, containing in its plane a rotatable arranged head (1), centre (1), preferably in the form of a circular plate, at which the chains (11), normally three in number, are intended to be fixed and from which these are essentially designed to swing out in the named plane. Characterizing the fastening device is that the named centre (1) is comprised of three equal tracks (3) arranged in the named plane and equally divided with respect to the perimeter of the named centre (4), where each track (3) runs into two places (3, 6) on the periphery of the named curve (4) and run in an arc (7), preferably forming a part of a circle's arc (7), between these places (5, 6) and in each track (3) a securing ring (8) for a chain (11) is arranged and this part juts outside of the named periphery (4) of the centre (1) as well as where the track (3) at least is partly covered by a lid (9) or similar.<IMAGE>

8101888-9 What is characteristic of the fastening device is that the head preferably comprises three equal grooves, where each groove opens at two places at the periphery of the head and runs in an arc, preferably forming part of an arc of a circle between these places and where in each groove a fastening ring for one of the chains is arranged and in this case partially protrudes outside the periphery of the head.

The invention is described in more detail below in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which - Fig. 1 shows a fastening head, center, according to the invention seen from the side the chains with fasteners are inserted into the head, where a chain is drawn and where lids are not drawn, and: Fig. 2 shows a section AA according to Fig. 1.

In Fig. I, I denotes a fastening head or center comprising the device, preferably in the form of a circular plate I, which is rotatably arranged in its plane by means of, for example, a central hole 2, in which a shaft, not shown, is intended to be inserted perpendicular to said plane.

Said center I comprises, in case three chains are to be attached, three identical grooves 3 arranged substantially in said plane and evenly distributed with respect to the circumference Ä of said center, periphery 4, i.e. with 120 ° pitch.

Each groove 3 opens at two places 5,6 at the periphery Ä and runs in an arc 7, preferably forming part of an arc of a circle 7, between these places 5,6. In each groove 3 a fastening ring 8 is arranged, which in this case partially protrudes outside the periphery 4. In Fig. 1 only one fastening ring 8 has been drawn.

The fastening rings 8 are intended to be held in place in the grooves by means of a lid 9 or the like, for example in the form of a circular disc 9 arranged in a recess 10 and intended to be fastened by means of through, not shown, bolts.

The lid 9 has not been drawn in Fig. 1 and has been drawn in dashed lines in Fig. 2.

A chain 11 can be attached directly to the fastening ring 8, but according to a preferred embodiment there is a coupling ring 12 arranged to connect the ring 8 and the chain 11 and thereby run through the ring 8 and a link 13 of the chain 11.

According to an equally preferred embodiment, the grooves 3 and the rings 8, 12 have a substantially square cross-section, as shown in Fig. 1.

The function of a device according to the invention should be obvious in the light of the above description.

With a device according to the invention, e.g. dynamic stresses and forces without transmitting harmful bending moments to the attachment. f 's101aás-9 Experiments with an operating prototype show that the service life of a fastening device according to the invention is many times greater than that of known devices. The service life is also more than ten times greater than that of the chains under normal operating conditions. The manufacturing cost is largely the same as known devices.

Some embodiments of a device according to the invention have been described above. Of course, minor changes are conceivable, without departing from the inventive concept.

Thus, said center can be thought to consist of two substantially equal halves, which, for example, are bolted together and between which said groove 3 is formed.

In this case, each half forms a "lid".

The invention is thus not to be considered limited to the above-mentioned embodiments, but can be varied within the scope specified by the appended claims.
