Abstract

Arrangement for locking the corner joints of items joined together by dovetailing 1,2, which form the sides, for example, of boxes and similar. The locking is carried out by the dovetail's projections 6,8 on an object 1 or 2, which engage in the space between projections on another object 2 resp. 1, being formed with extensions outside the engagement points. The extensions have recesses 9 resp. 10 which at each joint position are facing each other and are delineated outwards by a lip which forms the end of the projection. In the said recesses, corner posts 14 or similar are fitted which effectively lock the joined objects to each other by the fact that each corner post works together with, firstly, limiting surfaces 12 resp. 12' of two such lips facing the recesses, and secondly with two surfaces 11 resp. 11' which form the bottom surfaces in respective recesses 9 and 10 and which form a right angle with the abovementioned limiting surfaces 12 resp. 12' so that the corner post at each joint is enclosed and retained by the recesses. The corner posts will therefore lock the side pieces to each other in the dovetail joint so that it cannot come apart without the corner post being first withdrawn longitudinally. <IMAGE>
