Abstract
A water treatment arrangement (2) comprising a treatment chamber (4) having at least one chamber inlet (6) to receive water that may be contaminated with pathogens, such as bacteria, viruses, and protozoa, and at least one chamber outlet (8), the treatment chamber (2) is structured to have an essentially vertical orientation during use, said at least one chamber inlet is arranged in a lower end of the treatment chamber and said at least one chamber outlet is arranged in an upper end of the treatment chamber,the treatment chamber (4) is provided with a solar light transparent wall (18) and a backside wall (20), the solar light transparent wall (18) being transparent of ultraviolet (UV) light.The chamber outlet (8) is provided with a temperature controlled valve (24) configured to control outflow of water through the chamber outlet (8) in dependence of water temperature at said chamber outlet (8). The maximum thickness of defined vertical channels (10) is below a predetermined thickness value being in the range of 0.5 - 2.0 mm. The treatment chamber (4) is provided with a lower water receiving channel (12) structured to receive water from said at least one inlet (6) and to supply water to said vertical channels, and an upper water receiving channel (14) being structured to receive water from said vertical channels and to supply water to said at least one outlet (8).
