Abstract

A shell (1) for firing from a gun barrel, which shell (1) comprises a front and a rear shell body part (3, 4), a girdle band (5), an explosive and at least two splinter elements (9), in which the shell body parts (3, 4), the girdle band (5) and the said at least two splinter elements (9) together form a coherent shell body (2) comprising the explosive of the shell (1). The splinter elements (9) are exactly positioned in preformed singular cavities (8) in the shell body (2) in predefined positions, so that the size of each individual splinter element (9) corresponds to the size of the respective cavity (8). The invention also concerns a method for producing said shell (1).
