Abstract
The invention relates to a multifunctional module (1) which produces lateral action for projectiles, active bodies and warheads for fighting massive, structured and planar targets. The module essentially consists of any configurable, dynamically adequate dimensionally stable front and rear surfaces/contours (1A, 1C) and their attachment (1B). The contours (1A, 1C) consist of external (A) and internal active surfaces (B). According to a desired distribution of the lateral components in the splinter body surfaces adjoining the module the contours of the module can be formed for example convex, concave, in a circular arc or conical. The multifunctional module (1) is arranged between a ballistic head, a pre-core or a pre-module (2) to be expedited laterally and a rear projectile body (3). By means of the braking forces during striking or penetration and/or by means of the forces exerted by the inertia effect of the rear projectile body (3) on the module (1) the latter produces, thanks to its design, radial speed components for splinter-forming casings, fragmentable or expandable layers and casings with inserted or overlayed active bodies. In combination with a multifunctional module (1) a central penetrator (9) can be arranged in the projectile or active body. The module also extends the operational range of projectiles or active bodies with PELE and ALP effects.
